Have an existing video streaming business or looking to start one? MediaCP Cloud Video operates with worldwide ingest and CDN locations, backed by a 99% uptime guarantee.

A live broadcast only gets one chance; if the stream goes down, viewers are lost and the event is affected. For livestreams reliability is everything; however, regional network issues happen, routes get congested, and streams stop working. Here’s how MediaCP Cloud Video keeps broadcasts online:

Multiple Worldwide Ingest Locations

Rather than routing every broadcaster through one regional entry point, ingest is distributed across multiple locations globally. Distributing the ingest locations means your stream doesn’t have to travel around the world to get into the platform.

Having the lowest latency and the best connection are critical for live broadcasting. Your encoder connects to the ingest infrastructure closest to your location, ensuring your stream starts faster and remains stable throughout your broadcast. A better connection allows higher sustained bitrates for streams.

Having multiple ingest also allows for redundancy in the event of local failure. If a regional network issue affects one location, you can connect to a backup ingest location and get your stream back online. You don’t have to wait for the regional issue to be fixed to start streaming again.

Global CDN Delivery

Ingest covers the stream coming in, but once a broadcast is live, it still needs to travel to every viewer and device across the world. Streaming from a single location is fine for viewers in close proximity to the broadcast, but viewers further away experience lag, buffering and lower quality.

MediaCP CDN is powered by Akamai, distributing your stream across a global content delivery network with edge servers positioned strategically around the world. Viewers connect to the server nearest to them, getting fast, reliable playback regardless of their location.

If a regional network issue affects delivery in one area, the CDN can route around it, similar to how multiple ingests work upstream. A network problem in one region doesn’t have to affect viewers elsewhere in the world.

Reliability Features

Beyond global infrastructure, MediaCP Cloud Video includes features designed to keep your broadcast online and viewers connected.

Fallback Video: Keeps a channel live and broadcasting when there’s no active encoder or scheduled source, so viewers who arrive early or tune in between programmes don’t land on a dead channel. Likewise, if there is a dropout from the live encoder, the broadcast will play the fallback instead of dropping the stream.

Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) Streaming: Viewers with poor internet connections can still view the stream smoothly. The stream automatically adjusts quality rather than buffering or stopping. This is critical for ensuring viewers with poor internet connections can still reliably view the stream.

99% Uptime Guarantee

MediaCP backs our delivery network with a 99% uptime guarantee, built on the redundancy above: multiple ingest points, CDN-routed delivery, and fallback handling for the gaps in between.

All handled by our team of engineers, removing the need to worry about server administration, maintenance, scaling or management. MediaCP Cloud Video is ready and reliable out the box, ready to scale with you as your business grows.

Start Streaming with Confidence

MediaCP Cloud Video combines redundant global ingest, Akamai-powered CDN delivery, and a 99% uptime guarantee in one platform. Whether you’re broadcasting a single channel or reselling hundreds under your own brand, we handle reliability so you can focus on your customers and content.

Start Your 7-day Free Trial – See the reliability for yourself.

Gone are the days of manually creating streaming accounts and chasing down payments. MediaCP puts you in complete control of your revenue stream, giving your streaming business the professional automation it needs to scale in today’s competitive digital marketplace. MediaCP’s Billing Integration solves these operational headaches with comprehensive platform support that allows for the billing and automation of customers.

Why use MediaCP’s Billing Integration?

MediaCP’s Billing Integration creates seamless connections between your chosen billing platform and streaming infrastructure, complete with automated provisioning workflows and customizable service packages. Each customer purchase triggers instant account and service creation, ensuring customers can start streaming as soon as they hit Pay Now.

Key capabilities:

Automated Provisioning: Customer payments instantly trigger streaming account and service creation, eliminating manual intervention and reducing time-to-service.

Multi-Platform Support: Native integration with WHMCS, ClientExec, Blesta, and WiseCP through dedicated modules and comprehensive documentation.

Configurable Service Tiers: Build complex packages with bandwidth limits, connection caps, disk quotas, and feature toggles that automatically apply during provisioning.

Revenue Optimization: Support for metric billing, bundled products, and upselling opportunities through configurable options.

Professional Email Templates: Automated welcome emails with complete service credentials and setup instructions delivered instantly upon purchase.

Real-World Business Scenarios

Instant Service Activation: A customer purchases your premium streaming package at 2 AM, their account and service provisions automatically with full credentials delivered via email seconds later.

Scalable Growth: Your Black Friday promotion brings 200 new customers in one day, all accounts provision automatically without overwhelming your support team or requiring manual intervention.

Complex Package Management: Clients need custom plans with advanced features such as transcoding profiles and geographic restrictions, your billing integration handles this complexity with customisable packages.

Why Change?

Manual account provisioning doesn’t scale. Every minute spent on administrative tasks is revenue opportunity lost. Customer expectations have evolved: they expect instant service activation, not business-day delays. Manual processes introduce human error that can frustrate customers and lower customer satisfaction.

Why Now?

Customers don’t want to wait for manual processing, they expect to signup and start streaming. MediaCP’s wide support for billing platforms allows you to pick the right one for your business and customers. The window for implementing professional automation is narrowing as customer expectations continue rising and market competition intensifies.

Why MediaCP?

With over a decade powering thousands of streaming operations, MediaCP combines proven reliability with comprehensive billing automation, exceptional platform compatibility, and detailed implementation guides. The Media Control Panel integrates with WHMCS, ClientExec, Blesta, and WiseCP billing platforms to provide automation of billing and signup processes. When technical challenges arise during high-volume sales periods or complex enterprise deployments, our team delivers solutions that understand your revenue urgency.

MediaCP is a feature-rich streaming control panel that supports both audio and video services, making it a comprehensive solution for hosting providers who need reliable automation between billing systems and streaming infrastructure. The platform offers streamlined customer onboarding, automated service provisioning, and detailed configuration options to help providers build profitable streaming businesses with professional-grade reliability.

Ready to automate your billing and customer management?

Contact MediaCP today to discover how Billing Integration can eliminate manual provisioning bottlenecks and unlock scalable growth. Your customers and cash flow will thank you.

Turn your video streams into revenue streams with VAST advertising. MediaCP makes it simple to add advertisements to your broadcasts and start earning money from your broadcasts.

What is VAST/VMAP Advertising?

VAST/VMAP advertising allows you to insert advertisements into your video streams to generate revenue. You can show ads before your content starts (pre-roll) or during natural breaks (mid-roll). The more viewers you have, the more you earn. Advertisements are displayed Client Side only. Advertisements are not published when streaming through to external platforms such as Facebook or YouTube.

Why Use Advertising?

VAST advertising provides a direct way to monetize your content without disrupting the viewing experience. It can be setup by simply adding the VAST/VMAP from the advertising platform of your choosing to the channel and starting your broadcast.

MediaCP Cloud Video and the Media Control Panel both support VAST and VMAP advertising allowing you to advertise seamlessly into your current streaming infrastructure. Ads are delivered directly through the video player while keeping your primary broadcast stream completely uninterrupted.

Key benefits include:

Works with multiple advertising networks

Simple setup with no broadcast changes needed, simply add the VAST URL and start broadcasting.

Compatible with mobile devices

Doesn’t interfere with publishing to platforms like Facebook or YouTube

Available on cloud infrastructure and self hosted panel allowing flexibility

AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a popular hosting provider due to it’s stability and extensive features. It has a great track record of uptime and security as well as advanced features and performance. The cost is significantly higher than other VPS providers but is a premium option for businesses seeking reliable cloud hosting services.

You can use EC2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud) to deploy an instance of Linux and install Media Control Panel. We have a dedicated Video Guide that you can follow here, as well as a full write up below.

We recommend you review our system requirements page for recommended hardware before choosing a instance. In our guide we use C7A Large, C7A instances are powered by 4th generation AMD EPYC processes and provide great performance. They offer an expansive range of instance sizes ranging from 1 vCPU/2 GB Memory to 192 vCPU/ 384 GB Memory. They also offer a very high bandwidth 12.5 Gbps network. To chose the instance size that works best for you review our recommended hardware and decide what most closely matches your use case.

Configuring and Deploying Instance

This guide will assist you in deploying a new instance, generating an SSH key, and configuring your network and firewall settings to work with MediaCP.

Navigate to EC2

Launch a new instance

Set a name for the instance ie “MediaCP”

Choose the Debian 12 Amazon Machine Image

Select your Instance Type, we used C7A large as an example

Create and download a new SSH key pair in the PuTTY .ppk format if you are using PuTTY on Windows or the .pem format if using MacOS or Linux

In Network Settings Enable Allow HTTPS traffic from the internet & Allow HTTP traffic from the internet

Configure your servers firewall by creating new security group rules. Add in inbound security rules to allow the relevant ports in our system requirements

Configure storage to meet our system requirements, we used 50 GB as an example but your storage needs will depend on your use case.

Launch instance

Once successfully setup select the instance and ensure status shows checks passed

If you want to expand your audience and offer more value to your customers, you should consider adding video streaming to your audio streaming business. With MediaCP, you can easily manage both audio and video streaming from the same panel.

If you have an existing Audio License, we have a special offer so that you can try video streaming for free for a limited time. You will just need to contact our support team so we can enable video streaming on your license. Alternitively you can try out our panel with a free 7-Day trial license.

Once you have your license with video enabled, getting started can be as simple as installing a Video Server by following our installation guides.

MediaCP offers support for three different Video Streaming Servers:

Wowza Streaming Engine

Flussonic Media Server

Nginx-Rtmp Video Server

What can I do with Video Streaming on MediaCP

MediaCP is a powerful panel that allows you to stream video content with multiple service types. You can choose from the following service types:

Live Streaming: Live Streaming services let you broadcast live video from your computer, mobile device, or encoder to your audience. Depending on your streaming server you may be able to record your live streams and publish them as on-demand videos later. Live streaming is ideal for events, webinars, sports, concerts, and more.

TV Station: TV Station Services allow you to create a 24/7 online broadcast including both scheduled video files and live input. TV Station services are designed to be “always on” and provide a stream 24/7. You can schedule your videos in advance and add live streams as well. You can also setup VAST and VMAP Advertising and overlays to monetize your channel. TV station is ideal for creating a TV-like experience for your viewers.

On-Demand Video Streaming: Depending on your Streaming Server you may have access to On-Demand services. Dynamic playlists allow your customers to configure their video playlists from the MediaCP and automatically update on their website in realtime– with no changes to code. This powerful feature means your customers only ever need to apply embed code to their websites only once.

Relay/IP Camera: Relay services are capable of rebroadcasting from another RTMP, RTSP or HLS source. Rebroadcasting allows you to push out a stream with higher bandwidth availability as well as use many of the MediaCP functions such as Transcoding, Stream Publishing (Facebook, YouTube, etc), reporting and much more.

Those services are just the start, you can also take advantage of DVR, Recording, Video Transcoding (Adaptive Bitrate Streaming), VAST/VMAP Advertising, GeoIP Country Locking and Simulcasting to a multitude of social media platforms and applications.

Will I need a new server?

This will depend on your current servers hardware and on your intended video load. We have our reccomended system requirements for video streaming outlined on our System Requirements page. If do need to upgrade and are running your panel on VPS (Virtual Private Server) you can likely upgrade your server easily if you contact your datacentre.
With our latest release 2.13.7 official support for Debian 12 has been added. For customers wanting to move to this version of Debian we have a set of instructions here to assist you.

Please note support for Debian 12 is currently only available on our latest release branch on version 2.13.7 Upgrading to Debian 12 if you are not running 2.13.7 will not work and will cause issues. Please ensure before moving to Debian 12 that you are running 2.13.7+.

Can MediaCP Support do this for me?
No – We cannot perform operating system upgrades, however we complete a Migration Service to migrate your MediaCP to a new server running Debian 12 (or another supported O/S).

Migrating to a Fresh Debian 12 install.

We recommend completing a fresh install of Debain 12 on a different server and migrating over for the best stability and experience moving to Debian 12. This will avoid potential issues that can arise due to upgrading Debian versions and will allow for a fallback if you encounter issues on the move to Debian 12. We have a comprehensive guide for migration available as well as offer Migration Services if you would like our team to complete this for you.

How can I upgrade to Debian 12?

If you would like to upgrade to Debian 12 there are Official comprehensive instructions on the Debian 11 (bookworm) release notes page and simpler instructions available from CyberCiti.

Before upgrading you should complete a full backup and store the backup at a different location to avoid data loss.
