Multiple Mount Points

The primary usage of this feature is to broadcast at different audio qualities depending on listener requirements. It also allows you to stream different formats (aac and mp3) to maximize device support.

Imagine streaming a high quality (128Kbps AAC), medium quality (96Kbps AAC), low quality (48Kbps) as well as an MP3 48Kbps all from a single service.

Media Services that support Multiple Mountpoints include:

  • Shoutcast 2.5
  • Shoutcast 2.6
  • Icecast 2
  • Icecast 2 KH

Shoutcast 1.9.8 does not support multiple mount points, and only one mount point is available for configuration.

As an administrator, you can configure how many mount points your customer is allowed to configure on the service. You can also specify how many AutoDJ services that can be used on the mount points.

  1. Open the service Configuration page
  2. Select the Limits tab
  3. Select the number of maximum Mount Points your customer is allowed to use on this service.

Each audio media service includes a default mount point, configured with an AutoDJ service (if AutoDJ is enabled).

The customer can configure mount points for their service, as well as add or remove mount points (where limits permit).

If the service permits more than one mount point, a button to create additional mount points will become present on screen.

The service overview page will only display a player and embed code for the default mount point.

You can change the default mount point at any time.

  1. Open the Service Overview and navigate to the Mount Points page
  2. Select the mount point you wish to set as default
  3. Check the “Set as default mount point”
  4. Press Save to set this mount point as default.

From the Reseller Plan page, you can configure how many mount points the reseller is allowed to configure between all their servers. You can also configure how many Mount Points the reseller can configure Per Server.
