Cast-Control Pty Ltd (trading as MediaCP) is committed to the new Australian privacy legislation in the way it collects, uses, secures and discloses personal information.
The Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 requires companies to comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs). This document describes Cast-Control Pty Ltd Privacy Policy.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We will not collect any personal information about you except when you knowingly provide it.
We lawfully collect personal information that is necessary for our business to function. The information we collect and hold will depend upon the services you request from us and may include:
- Information you provide us when you purchase goods or services. This information will include your name, address and contact details.
- Information derived from communications between us and you.
The use of the facilities and services available through our website will determine the amount and type of information we collect. The only personal information we collect is when you use our website and what you tell us about yourself, for example, by completing an online form when you request information, or when you send us email we will record your mail address.
We utilise third party login services from Facebook to authenticate into our Billing Portal. If we combine or associate information from other sources with personal information that we collect through this service, we will treat the combined information as personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
To facilitate the Stream Publishing service, we obtain and use an access key, stream channel name, and stream key, from each platform you have connected to the service including Facebook and Youtube.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the purpose disclosed at the time of collection or otherwise as set out in this Privacy Statement. We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorized or required by law. Generally we will only use and disclose your personal information:
- To establish and maintain your relationship as a customer of MediaCP.
- To provide the products and services you have requested from MediaCP.
- To provide quick and easy login and authentication through to our Billing Portal
- To administer and manage those products and services.
- To answer your inquiry.
- For direct marketing by email, specials on services you have shown interest in.
If we contact you in this way without obtaining your prior consent, we will provide you with the opportunity to decline any further marketing communications. If you at any time receive any communication from Cast-Control Pty Ltd which you would not like to receive, please contact us and we will remove your name from our mailing list.
Our users’ trust is one of our most important assets, so we will never break this trust by selling or licensing any information about you to a third party.
Who we share your data with
We do not share your personal information with other organizations.
Google User Data & YouTube API Services
MediaCP includes an optional YouTube Stream Publisher feature, operated by Cast-Control Pty Ltd (trading as MediaCP), which connects your MediaCP service to your YouTube account so you can simulcast a live video stream to YouTube. This feature uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What Google user data we access
When you authorise the YouTube Stream Publisher through Google OAuth, our application accesses the following information from your Google account via the YouTube Data API: your connected YouTube channel name and identifier, OAuth access and refresh tokens, and the live broadcast and stream key configuration associated with your channel.
How we use Google user data
We use this data solely to provide and improve the Stream Publishing features you have requested. Specifically, we use it to identify your connected channel within the MediaCP interface, to create and manage a YouTube stream key, and to automatically create and manage YouTube broadcasts with your defined configuration. We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to data brokers or information resellers, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
How we store, protect and share Google user data
OAuth tokens and connection details are stored securely. For self-hosted MediaCP installations, this data is stored within your own MediaCP server under your control. For our Cloud Video platform, this data is stored encrypted and securely on our infrastructure. In all cases this data is transmitted using TLS encryption. Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We do not share, transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties, except where required by law or as necessary to deliver the feature you have requested, such as communicating with Google’s own APIs.
Retention, deletion and revoking access
We retain Google user data only while your YouTube connection remains active and as needed to provide the Stream Publishing feature. When you remove the YouTube stream target from your MediaCP service, the associated tokens and connection data are deleted. You can also revoke our application’s access to your Google account at any time from the Google security settings page, or request deletion of your data as described below.
Request deletion of account data
We retain personal information for the length of time needed to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When the retention period for a given type of data expires, we delete or destroy it.
To delete data associated with Stream Publishing services, you can do so from the platform by:
- Login to the platform
- Select your streaming service
- Select Stream Targets
- Delete the stream target associated with your platform data
Cookies
A cookie is a small file that resides on your computer and is recognised by our server when you visit our sites. A cookie does not provide us with any personally identifiable information. If does provide details of your IP address, the computer platform that you use (e.g. Mac or Windows), the browser that you use (e.g. Microsoft Explorer or Netscape) and what domain you are accessing our sites from. With this information we can do the following:
- Track traffic patterns to our site.
- Ensure that the most relevant content is being shown.
If you would rather we did not use cookies with you, you can refuse them by turning them off in your browser and/or deleting them from your hard drive. You will still be able to visit our sites.
Advertising and Business Partners
This Privacy Policy only relates to our sites. You should be aware that we are not responsible for the practices of our advertisers or business partners. Our site may contain links to other sites. You should check their privacy policies before providing personally identifiable information to them or any other third party.
Access to your personal information
In most cases, you can gain access to the personal information that Cast-Control Pty Ltd holds about you, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to check or amend your contact details, please contact us. We will deal with all requests for access to personal information as quickly as possible.
Changes to this privacy policy
It may be necessary for us to review and revise our Privacy Policy from time to time. An amended version will be posted on our website at www.mediacp.net we suggest that you visit our website regularly to keep up to date with any changes.
