Capture log files for troubleshooting

MediaCP log files for core application services are stored at /usr/local/mediacp/log/ and are often used for troubleshooting purposes. This document explains how to capture and send log files through to our support team.

It is most useful to capture the log files at the time of an issue occurring, before attempting any intervention to solve the problem.

  1. Login to SSH as root user
  2. Run the following command to generate a tar file automatically:
    sh -c "$(curl -sSL https://www.mediacp.net/tools/capturelog.txt?v4)"
  3. Copy and paste the Download URL
  4. Send the Download URL text output to MediaCP Support team

Note: Please do not send a screenshot of the download url, this will be rejected by our team and we will ask you to send the text output.
