Software Updates

Last updated 8 months ago

The Software Updates page provides your license information, software version and release tier preference.

Accessing Software Updates

The Software Updates page is available for Administrators and can be accessed from the side menu under the Administration menu item.

Product

This will show you the product you are subscribed to such as

  • Audio Starter
  • Audio Unlimited
  • Audio Unlimited Perpetual
  • Video Starter
  • Video Unlimited
  • Video Unlimited Perpetual

License Key

This will show you the License key attached to your MediaCP

Station Capacity

This will show the station capacity of your license as well as the current ammount of stations you have on the MediaCP.

For starter subscriptions you will have a station capacity of 25, you can increase this by upgrading to an unlimited plan from your client portal.

Branding Removal

By default, the Media Control Panel includes branding in the panel. You can remove this branding by purchasing the ‘Remove Branding’ add-on for your license.

CDN Support

CDN’s or Content Delivery Network’s are a group of geographically distributed servers that speed up the delivery of web content by bringing it closer to where users are. This can be very useful for scaling up your server to handle increased capacity by offloading the viewer connections.

You can read more about this in the Nginx or Wowza CDN scaling guides:

You will need to contact our Billing & Support department to enable the CDN add-on. Please note additional costs may apply.

Support & Upgrades

This will show you if you have a valid Support & Upgrades plan. Subscription based licenses have this included, however with perpetual licenses this is optional.

You need a valid Support & Upgrades plan to access new upgrades for your MediaCP and to access our support.

Current Version

This will show the currently installed version of MediaCP and will tell you if you are up to date for your selected release tier.

If you are out of date then you can follow our upgrade guide to upgrade your server. Or you can purchase an upgrade service to have our team of experts complete the upgrade for you. You can read more about our services here: Services – Media Control Panel

Refresh License

On the top right of the Your Software section you can find a button to refresh your license. This simply updates your license information in the panel. This can be useful for when your license is changed, such as if you have moved to an unlimited license or removed branding.

Release Tier Preference

This section allows you to change your MediaCP’s release tier. There are three release tiers to choose from; Latest, Stable, and LTS. For more information on these tiers please review the Versions & Releases page.

Please Note: Changing this will not upgrade your server, is will simply change the tier used when using the upgrade utility. You can find a detailed guide for upgrading here: Upgrading
