Repeat Protection ensures that the same track, or a track from the same album or artist does not play within the defined period, or number of track plays.
By default Repeat Protection is set to 10 minutes for Track, Album and Artist ensuring that no similar content plays within 10 minutes.
Be alert to these settings, as it is the common reason for scheduled content to not play, as the repeat protection settings will restrict similar content; even if scheduled. For this reason it is important to understand these settings and manage them on a Per Scheduled Event as well as a per General Rotation Playlist.
Repeat Protection settings are available on General Rotation playlists, Jingle Playlists, and Scheduled Events.
Important Notes
- Repeat Protection applies across all playback, not just the current event. A track inside a scheduled event may fail to play if it was recently played in General Rotation or a previous event.
- Prior to version 2.15.2, there was a 500-track limit. If your station plays more than ~500 items within the protection window, older plays are ignored and tracks may repeat earlier than intended.
- Multiple uploaded instances of the same track are treated as unique, as each is assigned its own Track ID.
