General Rotation

Last updated 10 months ago

General Rotations will play tracks automatically when there are no events scheduled.

There must be at least one general rotation configured for AutoDJ to work effectively. Should there be any gap, even a second, in scheduled events; general rotations will save the day and ensure the station stays online and listeners aren’t dropped.

Tracks are selected by a weighted random selection across the enabled General Rotation playlists.

  1. The checkbox under the General Rotaiton heading indicates that the playlist will operate as a General Rotation.
  2. A higher weight plays more frequently. A lower weight plays less frequently. A track is selected randomly from all available rotations using the weight definition.
  3. Playback determines if tracks are selected for General Rotation shuffled or in order.

Edit Playlist

Upon selecting the Create Playlist or Edit button (pencil icon) a popup will appear offering advanced configuration. This is relevant ONLY to the General Rotation and is not referred too when scheduling events on the calendar.

Schedule

Schedule -> Play Hours species  when this General Rotation is active between. By default, all rotations are active at all times (12:00am to 12:00am)

Repeat Protection

Repeat Protection ensures that the same track, or a track from the same album or artist does not play within the defined period, or within a certain number of track plays. Refer to Repeat Protection manual for more information.
