Port 80 / 443 Proxy

Last updated 4 months ago

MediaCP 2.5 and newer includes support for native port 80 and 443 stream proxy for Shoutcast and Icecast services only.

Port 8o/443 Proxy allows the use of the default web ports 80 and 443 for listening to stations, which provides better access to listeners who might be behind corporate firewalls. This is entirely optional; however it is a popular feature.

MediaCP is recommended to run on it’s own dedicated server, if there is another software (cPanel, Plesk, Apache/Nginx, etc) on the same server then this will likely use port 80 and 443 . Both 80 and 443 must not be in use on your system or else you will require a dedicated IP address to operate this feature.

After enabling the feature, the MediaCP will automatically update the links provided in the “HTTP Proxy” function.

Port 80 / 443 Proxy uses much more CPU PER LISTENER and the standard shoutcast / icecast ports should be preferred where possible
